Uniform Policy Grades 1 - 7
*All rules also apply when uniforms are worn before and after school
and off the school property.
*Learners are not permitted to “mix” uniform and casual
clothes. They should either be in full uniform or all casual clothes.
*Please ensure that all uniforms are clean and fit well.
*Torn, tattered, faded, or stained uniforms must be replaced.
*Uniform violations will be sent home for incorrect or outgrown uniforms.
Summer Uniform
Monday (or first day of the week after a holiday or long weekend, etc.)
Girls- White blouse (with the yellow school tartan collar), tie, skort, short white socks and black school shoes. The school pullover/jersey may be worn.
Boys-White short-sleeved shirt, tie, navy blue school shorts, navy blue Pfunanane knee socks and black school shoes. The school pullover/jersey may be worn.
Tuesday to Friday
Girls- Skort, blue golf shirt, short white socks and black school shoes. The school pullover/jersey may be worn.
Boys- Navy blue school shorts, golf shirt, blue Pfunanane knee socks and black school shoes. The school pullover/jersey may be worn.
Winter Uniform
Monday (Or first day of the week after a holiday or long weekend, etc.)
Girls- White school blouse with a tie, skort with navy blue tights or blue Pfunanane knee socks. They can also wear long navy blue dress trousers (NOT tracksuit pants!), school jersey and/or pullover, and black shoes. The school tracksuit jacket may be worn over the jersey if necessary.
Boys- White short-sleeved shirt with tie, navy blue long dress trousers (NOT tracksuit pants!) or navy shorts, school jersey and/or pullover and black school shoes. The school tracksuit jacket may be worn over the jersey if necessary.
Tuesday to Friday
Girls-Navy blue school shirt, skort with navy blue tights or navy Pfunanane knee socks, or
navy blue dress trousers (NOT tracksuit pants!), school jersey and/or pullover, and black school shoes. The school tracksuit jacket may be worn over the jersey if necessary.
Boys- Navy blue school shirt, navy blue dress trousers (NOT tracksuit pants!) or shorts, navy Pfunanane knee socks, school jersey and/or pullover and black shoes. The school tracksuit jacket may be worn over the jersey if necessary.
If a child has injured a foot and is unable to wear school shoes at that time, parents are requested to contact the office to make a plan. Please do not allow your child to wear alternative shoes without first contacting the office.
ONLY ON THE DAYS THEY HAVE P.E. THE SCHOOL TRACKSUIT PANTS MAY BE WORN OVER THE SPORTS CLOTHES BY BOYS AND GIRLS!
SPORT UNIFORM
The sports uniform consists of navy blue shorts and Pfunanane sports shirt. These items must be bought from the school.
Long tights may not be worn under the sports shorts. If it is cold, children should wear the tracksuit pants over their shorts.
School shoes or takkies must be worn with the sports uniform – no sandals or flip flops! Socks must be school socks (either navy or white).
The sports uniform must be changed into every Monday to Thursday during activity period for any kind of sport, and also for Physical Education classes. Please check your child’s timetable for this.
THE SCHOOL TRACKSUIT PANTS AND JACKET MAY BE WORN OVER THE SPORTS UNIFORM ON THE DAYS WHEN THE CHILDREN HAVE P.E. as part of their sports uniform. It is also to be worn to all sporting events.

Rules Pertaining to-
Fit: Girls’ skorts must not be shorter than 4 fingers above the knee, and must fit loosely.
Boys’ and girls’ long trousers must be long enough to touch their shoes. Other clothes must fit appropriately.
Hair:
GIRLS: Accessories such as ribbons, beads or headbands must be plain navy blue, white, yellow or black.
Hair must be kept out of the face. Hair must always be tied back neatly, whether it be natural, straightened or extensions.
Hair may not be coloured or bleached, and no coloured hair extensions or hairpieces allowed.
BOYS: Hair must be kept short – no higher than 1 cm. They are not permitted to shave patterns in their hair, or have dreadlocks.
ALL: No mohawks are allowed for either boys or girls – hair must all be the same length.
Hair must be clean and neat at all times.
Jewellery: Earrings must be small studs or hoops (silver or gold).
Boys are not permitted to wear earrings.
A watch may be worn, but no additional jewellery is allowed.
Nails: Nails must be kept short and clean, and no nail polish is allowed.
Makeup: No form of makeup, including lip gloss, is allowed.
Shoes: No soccer boots will be allowed to be worn during class time.
No sandals or slip flops allowed at any time.
Extras: Garments worn underneath the uniform may not be visible, including girls’ undergarments. Only plain white vests allowed underneath – no long-sleeved shirts.
Beanies, scarves, gloves, tights, and accessories must be plain navy blue.
Girls must wear either socks or tights-not both together.
Gloves must be knitted and plain navy-no leather or ski gloves.
Towels and blankets may not be worn over school clothes.
All uniforms must be clearly labeled with the child’s name.
GENERAL:
Jerseys and jackets may not be tied around the waist
Socks must be pulled up
Shoes must be tied
Tracksuit pants must only be worn on PE days (over the sports uniform) and to sporting events, etc. Only long dress trousers can be worn with the normal uniform.
On casual days, no strapless tops, short skirts, or tops that expose the stomach are allowed.
ANY UNIFORMS THAT ARE FADED, WORN OUT, TORN, OR ILL-FITTING MUST BE REPLACED!
Grade R and PR boys and girls:
Navy blue school golf shirt
Navy blue shorts or pants – if skirt is worn, wear shorts underneath
Navy blue jerseys or drimacs
The school tracksuit may be worn.
Children may wear any school shoes or takkies with navy or white socks (no dress
shoes or sandals please)
